Artists of the High Desert Prospectus: Rules of Spring into Art Competition

Bring work clean and ready to display
Each artist may enter two entries in each category.
Only original work will be entered. Paint along style paintings are not eligible for entry.
Artist does not hold AHD liable for damage or loss.
AHD accepts 15% of sale price on sold works.
Each painting must be clean, dry, secure and in good condition, with a strong wire hanger that does not show when hung (no tooth hangers). Paper entries must be protected with glass or plexiglass and have a rigid backing.
Each painting will not exceed 36” in any dimension, and not weigh more than 25 pounds if it is to be hung.
Sculptures or bronzes can be heavier, but artist is responsible for moving them.
Artwork must not have been previously entered in any AHD Fall or Spring into art competition.
Final determination of category and division placement will be up to the jury committee.
Suitability of art will be determined by the jury committee.
Diptych and Triptych entries must be attached to each other and be entered as one entry.
No class projects are to be entered.
ENTRY FEE:
$10.00 per entry per member, $15.00 per entry per non-members, $5.00 youth
Would you like to join AHD? Membership for individual for one year $40.00, $55.00 if adding additional family members from same household.

Drawing, pastel (ink, pencil, graphite, etching)
Mixed media (ink/watercolor, pastel/acrylic, etc.). Oil over acrylic is considered oil
Miscellaneous (paper, sculpture, pottery, collage,3D, glass, mosaic, and any other)
Photography
DIVISIONS:
Novice/amateur
Advanced/professional
Youth/student (elementary, 5-11), (Jr. High, 12-14), (high school, 15-18)
PRIZES:
Best in show: $50.00 and ribbon. People’s choice: 1 year membership in AHD and $50.00. 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention will receive ribbons. All participants will receive a certificate. Local business awards.
If there are not 5 entries in each category, categories will be combined, but divisions will always stay separate.
