Please come by to see her work.
Alejandra E. Gomar is a multimedia artist and educator whose practice spans multiple disciplines, such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, installation, murals, and mixed media. Her work is rooted in lived experience and explores themes of identity, memory, family, and resilience. Her pieces are informed by her background as an immigrant Latina woman, mother, and lifelong educator.
Alejandra has over two decades of experience in art education and community engagement. She worked as a high school art teacher for ten years, and from 2015 to 2018, she was the owner and curator of The Cocoon Art Gallery in Apple Valley, fostering creative exchange and community connection. She remains deeply committed to arts advocacy in the Inland Empire.
Alejandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from California State University, San Bernardino, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Studio Art (anticipated 2028). She also holds a Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential in Arts, Media, and Entertainment. As an active member of the regional arts community, Alejandra continues to engage the public through teaching, volunteering, and community-based creative projects.
Alejandra joined Artists of the High Desert in early 2025 and loves being part of the community that Artists of the High Desert created. She teaches a wide range of workshops, including miniature making, clay building, printmaking, sewing, and other hands-on creative practices. She enjoys offering the chance to be introduced to a new medium and enjoys attending the classes taught by others for the same reason. Alejandra is ecstatic to be the first featured artist of 2026 and wants to thank Artists of the High Desert for this opportunity.
